Los Chanares - Cordoba, Argentina

Luxurious High-Volume Dove Hunting

Conveniently located 60 miles from the Cordoba international airport, Estancia Los Chañares owns or controls some the finest dove roosting habitat and farmland for which the northern region of Cordoba is known.

The vast choice of different landscapes permits us to offer the type of shooting to please any category of shooter. In some fields, even the most experienced shooter will find the high-flying birds challenging and at the outmost range of a shotgun. However, what all these fields have in common is that they all provide an overwhelming quantity and quality of wild birds, flying all day long.  Enthusiastic hunters can easily shoot a case of shells per hour.

The overwhelming quantity of doves is considered a plague in the area as they can destroy a whole crop in just a few hours.  Nevertheless, we have carefully developed a game-management program. Contrary to the practice of many other outfitters, the roosting nesting grounds are never hunted, nor are the streams where the birds go to drink.

Hunting Schedule

You now have the flexibility to hunt or relax at your own pace without having to follow a rigid schedule normally imposed to accommodate a group. You wake up at a comfortable hour and still get to shoot a case or two of shells before coming back to lunch at the lodge. After savoring a delightful meal, shooters prefer to take a siesta, go for a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or enjoy a ride on one of our many horses. Even if you relax by the pool until five o'clock, a hunter can shoot more rounds than most shoulders can handle while the other outfitters and their guests are driving-back to the lodge from far-off fields.

Five Star Lodging
This picturesque European flavored, Argentine style lodge offers all the modern conveniences in sumptuous yet cozy surroundings. There are eight double-rooms, each with a fireplace, dressing room and private bathroom.

Gourmet Food and Wine
Our in-house gourmet chef will impress you with every meal, highlighting Argentina's famous beef and Medozan wine.

The Personnel
From the moment you are picked up at the airport, all the members of the well trained staff will make certain that you experience an enjoyable stay. Whether it be in the field where your bird boys will make certain that you don't run out of shells and refreshments, or at the lodge where the house staff will be more than pleased to take care of your laundry, the Los Chanares' team will cater to your every need.

The Hunting Season

The doves roost in our nests from late May to the end of March during which period we hunt our fields and nearby properties. We are closed during April and May.  The very dry climate makes shooting conditions comfortable year round.

We also plant many fields with the dove's favorite cereals to keep them on the property. With the lodge in middle of the property surrounded by hunting fields you'll never have to endure the tiring van rides of found with many other outfitters in the Cordoba region.

Hunting Fields of the Merlo Region
